As of the latest update by the Greek authorities, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 diagnosed cases in Greece is 124,534. 85 new deaths were reported raising the total number to 3,625. The number of patients treated in intensive care units dropped at 552. 693 new cases were announced yesterday in Greece, dropping the daily number below 1,000. 169 of the new cases were found in the Attica region and 151 new cases in the Thessaloniki region.
The fewest cases of coronavirus since October 20 were announced yesterday, leading to feelings of hope for improvement in the country. The occupancy of intensive care units remains at high levels, but experts hope that by the holidays the number of intubated will have dropped to 300.
Survey Reveals Only 4 Out of 10 Greeks Want to Get Coronavirus Vaccine. The survey, which was conducted by the Athens University of Economics and Business, asked a total of 3,571 individuals, covering a wide spectrum of socioeconomic classes of Greek society.
Pfizer/BioNTech Coronavirus Vaccine Cleared for Use by FDA: The vaccine produced by the American firm Pfizer and the German company BioNTech cleared the final hurdle on Friday night and will soon be on its way to the public.
British neuroscientists say they have found no link between pandemic coronavirus (and the vaccines against it) and Guillain-Barré syndrome, a neurological condition that can lead to paralysis and sometimes death.

The Greek government announced on Friday a set of measures for the reopening of some businesses in the retail sector for Christmas sales. It also noted that churches may also reopen — but only for Christmas and Epiphany Day.
Hairdressers and barbershops across Greece, will open their doors today Monday the 14th, with the possibility of extended hours from 7 am to 9 pm. Their operation will be done exclusively by appointment.
The implementation of the click away method of sale started today, after the announcements of the government for the road map of the retail trade during the festive period.
Retail stores will be able, under certain conditions, to sell their products to consumers, as long as they have a special point of sale outside. Click away does not allow consumers to physically tour the stores. Instead, they should choose the products they want to buy either through a business e-shop or by ordering by phone from the store.
