As of the latest update by the Greek authorities yesterday at 6 pm, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 diagnosed cases in Greece is 1,832. Of these, 501 infections relate to travelling abroad and 679 relate to people infected within Greece. 81 people have died and 90 patients remain intubated in intensive care units.

MEASURES

  • In an effort to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Greek government is launching 500 mobile sampling and testing units. The units will visit homes where there are suspected cases of infection, under the guidance of the National Public Health Organization (EODY).
  • The government announced it had reached an agreement with Greeceā€™s main mobile network operators for free access to the virtual tools used for distance learning by schools during the pandemic. The deal with Cosmote, Vodafone and Wind went into effect on Tuesday, April 7. According to official data shared, around 1 million students and 166,000 teachers have signed up with the online school network. An estimated 23,000 online classes take place every day.
