MEASURES/RESTRICTIONS

· A Roma settlement in Larissa, central Greece, has been put in quarantine for the second time in just over a month after 35 residents tested positive for the new coronavirus. The strict lockdown was imposed late on Thursday after the National Organization for Public Health (EODY) received confirmation of the outbreak from teams that had been sent to the New Smyrni settlement and tested more than 600 residents.

· Greek consumers will be able to buy up to three packages of antiseptic gel or alcohol solution from retail stores as of Friday, according to a joint decision by the ministries of development and health issued on Thursday. The same decision extends the obligation of importers and pharmacists to declare their stocks on surgical masks, disinfectants, alcohol and coronavirus tests until July 12.

TRANSPORT

· The government is expected today to announce guidelines for health and safety precautions on transport in Greece ahead of the further lifting of restrictions on movement from next week.

· Restrictions on movement outside one’s region of residence are to be lifted from Monday, when travel to Crete and Evia will be permitted. Travel to other Greek islands will be gradually permitted from May 25.
