As of the latest update by the Greek authorities, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 diagnosed cases in Greece 2,684,916. 50 new deaths were reported raising the total number to 26,686. The number of patients treated in intensive care units is currently 358. 26,536 new cases were announced yesterday in Greece. 8,734 of the new cases were found in the Attica region and 2,840 new cases in the Thessaloniki region.
The recent decline in the number of Covid-related deaths and intubations do not signify the end of the pandemic, the president of the National Vaccination Committee, Maria Theodoridou, warned on Monday.
“Experts are skeptical about when the pandemic will end. Historically, each pandemic has a different outcome and it is noted that many more chapters remain to be written in the book of the Covid pandemic,” she said during a press briefing.
Marios Themistokleous, Health Ministry secretary general for Primary Health Care, told journalists at the same briefing that news about Greece’s vaccination campaign will from now on be held at bigger intervals and when there is an announcement by the Health Ministry.
Greek health authorities announced 26,536 new cases of Covid-19, and 50 virus-related deaths on Tuesday during their daily briefing. The National Organization for Public Health (EODY) also stated that there are currently 358 intubated patients being treated in Intensive Care Units.
The total number of Covid-19 infections in Greece since the start of the pandemic rose to 2,684,916, with a total of 26,686 deaths over the same period.
