As of the latest update by the Greek authorities, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 diagnosed cases in Greece is 127,557. 85 new deaths were reported raising the total number to 3,870. The number of patients treated in intensive care units is currently 552. 1,190 new cases were announced yesterday in Greece. 270 of the new cases were found in the Attica region and 232 new cases in the Thessaloniki region.

Tokyo is currently in 4th level of “alarm” as coronavirus daily detected cases have reached a new record.

A national team of scientists is planning to visit China in January of 2021, in order to investigate the origin of Covid-19 virus.

The 9 person limit in holiday season gatherings remains uncertain as cases might rise dangerously. Mr. Vatopoulos, professor of Microbiology in West Attica University, mentioned that it is under discussion to impose lockdown measures, as in March of 2020, in regions with high numbers of patients.

In Greece, the Financial committee is planning the financial support of employed citizens and companies suffering the consequences of the pandemic. Financial support provided by the EU, is 24 billion for 2020 and 7,,5 billion euros for 2021.

In the latest Eurogroup, the impact of the extension of protection measures in the economy was discussed. In hope of vaccines being approved, it is expected for the economy to ascent in the first 3 months of 2021.

Today, in Greece, starts the registration of all health workers wishing to get vaccinated first and foremost. 150,000 citizens- lower than initially planned- are expected to receive the vaccine in January of 2021.
