Update – 30/12/2020
December 30, 2020
As of the latest update by the Greek authorities, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 diagnosed cases in Greece is 136,976. 58 new deaths were reported raising the total number to 4,730. The number of patients treated in intensive care units is currently 458. 1,047 new cases were announced yesterday in Greece. 327 of the new cases were found in the Attica region and 197 new cases in the Thessaloniki region.
A few days after Christmas, Greece “returned” to a higher number of new cases detected per day, most likely because fewer tests have been taken during the festive days. A strict lockdown is being extended in regions of western Attica and Kozani, until 6th of January of the new year.
There is a test that predicts if an infected person with Covid-19 will incur mild or severe symptoms. The test measures the “load” of the virus in the patient’s body.
The new mutations of covid-19 are equally contagious but no more dangerous than the initial phases. Mutations of viruses are normal as time passes.
More and more countries are continuing with vaccinations. Spanish government officials announced they will keep a record of people who deny to get vaccinated, and will forward it to other EU countries, without publishing it.
Britain is the first to approve the vaccine produced by AstraZeneca and Oxford. It will be added to support the process of vaccination of the public.
Following the click away method of shopping, a new scheme is being proposed to be implemented in January. The “click inside” method proposes customers booking an appointment with the store to visit and shop inside.
